JOB DESCRIPTION
As part of the development of our activities in the canton of Vaud, we are looking for a Mechanical / Thermal Engineer (M/F).
You will join a multidisciplinary engineering environment involved in the development of advanced equipment for demanding space applications.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the mechanical design of equipment and sub-systems for space applications.
Perform thermal analyses and thermal simulations to support product development.
Support structural simulations when required.
Participate in mechanical architecture definition and technical trade-offs.
Contribute to the integration of equipment into complex space systems.
Take into account severe environmental constraints: thermal, vacuum, vibration, mass, materials and mechanical interfaces.
Collaborate with system, mechanical, electronic, RF, manufacturing and integration teams.
Participate in design reviews, risk analyses and technical justification activities.
Produce technical documentation: design files, analysis reports, justification notes and integration documentation.
Support test, qualification and validation activities, including environmental testing.
YOUR PROFILE
You hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Thermal Engineering or a related field.
You have minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering for space or highly demanding embedded environments, with a strong focus on thermal aspects.
Requirements
Experience in space, satellite, aerospace or embedded equipment environments.
Strong experience in thermal analysis and simulation.
Experience in mechanical design of complex technical equipment.
Good knowledge of SolidWorks.
Good knowledge of Ansys, ideally for thermal simulation.
Understanding of space environment constraints: vacuum, thermal cycling, vibration, mass, materials and interfaces.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment.
Strong documentation, communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
Experience with structural simulation / FEM.
Knowledge of ECSS practices.
Exposure to environmental testing: vibration, thermal cycling, thermal vacuum / TVAC.
Experience with RF equipment, antennas, payloads or embedded sub-systems.
Experience in qualification of embedded equipment.
Languages
Fluent English is mandatory.
French is a plus.
