Job Description
In Switzerland, in the Canton of Valais, we are looking for a Senior Project Cost Engineer (M/F) to join our Life Sciences team.
The position is based onsite in Visp and involves supporting major pharmaceutical CAPEX projects, providing Project Leadership with accurate and forward-looking cost information throughout the different project stages.
Main Responsibilities
Support the development of project cost estimates and the transition from estimate to Control Budget.
Establish and maintain project cost-management processes and interfaces.
Prepare accurate and timely cost reports and forecasts for Project Leadership.

Accruals
Foreign Exchange
Estimate to Complete (ETC)
Estimate at Completion (EAC)
Cost phasing
Identify potential cost overruns and savings opportunities and provide forward-looking analysis.
Review and challenge cost information provided by Engineering Partners and contractors.
Ensure contractor cost-control methodologies and tools are aligned with project-control requirements.
Support Application for Payment processes, material trending, productivity analysis and change logs.
Support Change, Risk & Opportunity Management, including evaluation of cost impacts.
Manage and monitor project contingency drawdown.
Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Finance and external suppliers.
Support project close-out, commercial close-out, asset activation and benchmarking activities.
Provide management and support to other cost engineers when required.
Your Profile
10+ years of experience as a Project Cost Engineer / Cost Controller on major CAPEX projects.
Strong experience on large pharmaceutical projects above CHF 250 million.
Proven experience working within an EPCM environment is essential.
Previous client-side experience within a pharmaceutical company is a strong advantage.
Strong knowledge of project cost control throughout Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning.
Proven experience with Budget, Commitments, Accruals, ETC, EAC, Forecasting and Cost Reporting.
Experience managing project changes, risks, opportunities and contingencies from a cost perspective.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret large and complex datasets.
Ability to communicate project cost performance clearly to senior management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of SAP, SAP Ariba and Oracle Primavera Unifier is an advantage.
Excellent command of English.
Business fluent German is an advantage.
Degree in Engineering, Science, Quantity Surveying or equivalent professional experience.
Comfortable working in a global, fast-paced and complex project organisation.
