we are seeking a passionate and experienced R&D Mechanical Project Leader to join our dynamic team in Vercelli. You will drive the development of cutting-edge products from concept to market, working closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure technical excellence and project success.
Your Mission
- Lead technical exchanges supported by design tools (CAD, simulation, statistical analysis) to proactively derive pragmatic solutions in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Build, monitor, and maintain project plans, budgets, and action plans within your area of responsibility.
- Manage the complete development lifecycle of new products and modifications to existing products, engaging with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare comprehensive Design History File (DHF) packages and contribute to Device Master Record (DMR) documentation in partnership with Operations.
- Collaborate with Operations to define manufacturing processes and tools.
- Support prototype manufacturing, ensuring timely execution of risk mitigation activities.
- Provide technical expertise and assistance to production, including research of alternative sources, product disposition, and change management.
- Lead the design transfer process and support product ramp-up, including training of involved teams.
- Design mechanical components and sub-assemblies using Creo and manage data via PDM Link.
- Define and execute product/component qualification plans.
- Lead the development of components and sub-assemblies with suppliers, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Participate in risk management activities and contribute to technical files for regulatory submissions.
- Foster and support processes like reverse engineering, feasibility studies, techno bricks, patent and standard watch.
- Promote and deploy a proactive continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to optimize cost, manufacturability, performance, and reliability.
Your Profile
- Mechanical Engineer (Master’s degree or equivalent preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical development, including design, validation, and industrialization, preferably in medical device projects.
- Solid experience in project management fundamentals (WBS, scheduling, budgeting, tracking).
- Proven ability to autonomously navigate organizational structures, processes, and product portfolios.
- Expertise in Mechanical Component Design (Creo, PDM Link) and Material Knowledge.
- Familiarity with Medical Device Standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong skills in writing specifications and test plans in English.
- Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience in monitoring internal and external activities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
