We are currently seeking a Global Purchasing Leader to join our growing team in Vercelli.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Global Purchasing Leader manages the categories under his/her responsibility to obtain the best Quality / Cost / Time / Environment ratio and defines and implements, in agreement with the Purchasing Director, the mid/long term strategy of his/her purchasing categories to ensure optimal performance of his/her portfolio and support the corporate strategy and development projects.
Depending on the assigned categories, the purchasing scope may be either local and/or global (France, Italy, Dominican Republic).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: primary duties and/or responsibilities to be performed, methods used, and why.
- Define, update and implement the mid/long term strategy of his/her purchasing categories in accordance with the global purchasing strategy.
- Research and select the most suitable suppliers and optimize their number for each category.
- Lead the relationships with suppliers under his/her portfolio & develop a trust atmosphere.
- Participate to the elaboration of the specifications closely with the internal stakeholders and involving suppliers when necessary (design review, DFM...)
- Manage the entire tendering process: RFx, review, negotiation and business assignment in accordance with applicable standard operating procedures.
- Draft and negotiate contracts and agreements, and monitor their proper execution.
- Carry out value analysis and implement regular actions to decrease the cost of goods and/or services.
- Place and track NRE and CAPEX orders when applicable.
- Submit the necessary technical specifications to suppliers in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date prices and supplier information in the ERP.
- Check and validate invoices and credit notes in the event of a dispute.
- Analyze performance indicators (on-time deliveries, non-conformities, etc.), evaluate suppliers, and implement necessary actions in collaboration with Supplier Quality.
- Anticipate supplier risks and implement action plans if necessary (capacity, monopoly, finances, obsolescence...).
- Initiate supplier and/or technology transfers.
- Ensure regular monitoring of his/her purchasing portfolio (trade fairs, newsletters, webinars, etc.) to understand market evolution & technology development.
- Provide regular support to logistics, production, and accounting departments, whether in France, Italy, or the Dominican Republic.
- Visit the company plants & suppliers on regular basis

EDUCATION
- Master's degree in a business school or engineering school with a specialization in purchasing.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in purchasing & experience within a multicultural & industrial environment.
- Experience in Medical Device industry is preferred.
